Are Hortuly products really natural?
Yes! We make all our Hortuly products using only natural, plant based ingredients including organic essential oils, plant oils and botanicals. We are fully transparent the the ingredients we use. Please see our ingredients list.
Are Hortuly products suitable for vegans?
Everything we make is vegan friendly. We use plant based, natural ingredients in all our products, including our aromatherapy candles which we make using 100% vegetable Soy Wax.
Are Hortuly natural skincare products suitable for all skin types?
Our products are formulated to suit all skin types. They are all made from natural ingredients that are gentle on the skin and are also free from parabens, sulfates, harsh chemicals, petroleum-derived materials, preservatives and synthetic fragrances (‘fragrace oils’ or ‘parfum’). These synthetic additives can cause irritation for people with sensitive skin. However, as with any new skincare regime, we always recommend doing a skin patch test first before using any of our natural skincare products.
Have Hortuly products been safety tested?
All Hortuly skincare products have undergone full cosmetics safety testing by a UK registered toxicologist and therefore they have all been certified safe to use.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
A UK qualified toxicologist has safety tested all of our skincare products therefore they are safe to use. However, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or unsure about using products containing essential oils, we still strongly recommend that you seek medical advice before using any of our products. This also includes our essential oil candles.
Is your packaging recyclable?
We use fully recyclable and reusable glass and aluminium for our products. We also use FSC cardboard, paper bubble wrap and paper packing tape too. Find out more about our environmentally friendly packaging.
Is your packaging plastic free?
The only plastic in our packaging is the coating on our removable product labels, which is necessary due to the essential oils in our products. Our recyclable aluminium lids are lined with EPE for the same reason. Following customer feedback, we now offer a reusable plastic dispensing pump option for our body oils, but this is optional.
Are Hortuly products made in the UK?
Yes! All Hortuly products are hand made by us in small batches in our workshop in Wales. This also means we can ensure the quality of all of our products.

Do you deliver outside the UK?
Unfortunately, we can only deliver within the UK – but we are looking to add international deliveries in future.
